The children and I are reading Horrible Harry Goes to the Moon. Harry is the main character in a series of chapter books. He got his horrible nick name by loving horrible things. Harry's teacher inspired her class by purchasing a sofa covered with moons. As we read each chapter we are discussing vocabulary and looking at dialogue. Harry and friends do a great job of teaching us how to use quotation marks. |

The Moon Book by Gail Gibbons will be our source for moon facts. Somehow I have collected some 20 titles both fiction and non-fiction about the moon and stars. We will certainly be enlightened by the week's end! |
