LCE Second Grade Annual Apple Day
Johnny Appleseed
Students were challenged to write their first biography!  We read several books about John Chapman, a man who would be come known to generations as Johnny Appleseed.  Visit our classroom to see our beautiful apple poems.  The biographies will soon be posted below.
Each year in honor of Johnny Appleseed's birthday, the Second Grade at LCE pays tribute to an amazing fruit...the apple!  The children will visit four classes and participate in different apple related activities.  The children, with help from our gracious volunteer parents, will move room room to room for plenty of apple fun.

Gage - Johnny Facts
Johnny Chapmad was born on September 26, 1774. He was born in Leominster, Massachusetts.  His father was at war.  John's younger brother and mother died when John was two.  His father remarried Lucy Cooley.  They had ten kids in ten years.  Johnny went into the apple orchard for peace and quiet.
