| We will began our study of fossils by reading in our science books. Then we will read Fossils Tell of Long Ago by Aliki and Mary Anning: Fossil Hunter by Sally Walker. |

| Room 7's palentologists will be making trips to see a dinosaur exhibit and to Fossil Hill for a real fossil dig. |

| Evidence of Life |
| We went to the Natural History Museum on February 4 and Fossil Hill is coming up on February 18. The children will visit an actual dig site and search for sea fossils. |

| Fossil Hill, located in Buena Park is an active dig site. Lisa will be our palentologist. Did I mention that she is very funny? |
| This is our formal lesson on paragraph writing. I will be looking for: - Indenting - Grouping of ideas - Correct grammar - Descriptive language - Topic sentence - Title - Closing sentence |
| After both trips the kids will be writing non-fiction paragraphs. |
